Introducing

Residence Inn

Converting a shuttered hotel into a 289-room extended stay accommodation, improving the rooms and amenities.

Project

DETAILS

Skyline was hired by Prime Group to convert a vacated hotel into a Marriott Residence Inn. The project, located just off of Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, featured converting standard hotel rooms into extended stay rooms by adding kitchenettes and updating paint and carpet in the rooms and hallways. Additionally, Skyline upgraded the amenities in the building. This includes building out a ground floor restaurant/bar with specialty lighting in the bar, as well as constructing a breakfast buffet room.

SPOTLIGHT

FEATURES

Every project is fully customized to satisfy the specific needs of our client’s business. Here are a few features that make this space especially unique.

Specialty Millwork

Custom millwork was installed for the cabinetry in each of the 289 rooms, as well as in the guest breakfast buffet

101 Club Restaurant and Bar

Skyline constructed a brand new ground floor bar and restaurant, complete with under-slab lighting at the bar counters and cornices at the trim

Scanning & Coring

We completed more than 150 cores in the post-tension structure and multiple stages of floor scanning, ultimately completing the task with no damage to post-tension cabling

Stair Pressurization

In a design-build effort with FE Moran, Skyline completed the pressurization of an existing stairwell to meet Marriott's requirements
